Debt Consolidation Loan – The Financial Partner By Erika Anaya

These days debt trap is a very common phenomenon in the UK and rest of the world. Various financial markets offer numerous kinds of debt for different purposes. Debts are available for making homes, for investments purpose, for buying expensive items, for holidays, for business purposes and for many other such financial needs. For owing a good life or sometimes under an emergency, people incur debts. Sometimes these debt traps are very cumbersome and people get involved in these traps knowingly or unknowingly. It happens that people incur debt but are unable to repay it. For such situations, there is a solution and a financial partner.

You can opt for debt consolidation loans as your financial partners. These loans are mainly devised to help those who are facing difficulty in repaying their outstanding debts. A majority of borrowers face problems in debt repayment. This is actually your financial partner which takes the burden of your entire previous loans. This kind of financial assistant can allow you to pay a single monthly instalment for all your different debts at a uniform rate of interest.

The main advantage with debt consolidation loan is that rates of interest are always lower than that of previous debts. Thus, it provides a chance to save a big amount by merging all your debts. While applying for these loans, the main concern of the borrower should be, at first, the fixed monthly payment, second, the life span of the loan, then the gross payback amount including the interest and at last if there are any affects of the debt consolidation on the credit rating. Debt consolidation loans or debt loans can be availed in two forms i.e., secured and unsecured. Secured type of loans is backed by your residential property. Secured debt loans are offered against home or property whereas unsecured type of the loans does not require any security.

Various companies provide these kinds of loans. You should take great care before settling for any particular company. Some companies provide solutions but these solutions have some problem with them. They reduce overall monthly payment but raise total debt tenure. In due course of time such solutions increase dues. This particular situation may increase your financial burden in stead of relieving it.

There are some companies which ask for a fee for providing quotes in order to provide debt loans. You must know that such quotes are always free of cost. Always be careful before choosing any company. Before any satisfactory repayment solution never pay fee to any such company. Companies must offer counselling for debt management to their clients. There are many options available online for assisting you in consolidating the debts.

Auto Car Loans – Your Options By Apurva Shree

By Apurva Shree

Shopping for auto car loans is just as important as shopping for the car that you like. People have a lot of choices in choosing a lender who offers car loans to help them buy the car they desire.Selecting An Auto Loan Financier

People can always approach their local bank to secure an auto loan, but may dread the lengthy application process, the many questions they have to answer and the documents that they may have to prepare and submit. The whole process of financing can become a very daunting task indeed.

People also approach car dealers who offer financing options too. This does not give the customer much choice regarding the interest rate and they may not negotiate with the dealer as much as they can when they secure a amount from a third party lender. When customers have been pre-approved by another lender, they can confidently negotiate better rates with the dealer and ask for discounts too. They get to shop for a lender who offers them better rates, enabling them to repay the loan easily and become debt free faster. Customers do not have that luxury when they opt for dealership loans.

People also use credit unions to finance their car loans. They are said to be fast in granting a loan as compared to banks, but not as fast and convenient as getting a loan from an online lender.

There are several online lenders offering auto car loans at amazing rates. People find that the interest rates offered by various lenders differ and that if they take the time to search, they will indeed get a reputable company, offering them an instant amount at the lowest rates possible.

The common factor that most lenders consider is the credit profile of the customer. So take time to ensure that you have a credit score above 680, ensuring that you get a amount at the lowest rates possible. If not, work on improving your credit record before applying for a loan to buy a car.

People use collateral to secure their loan such as property, or their vehicle. Since the auto car loans are secured, they usually get low interest rates enabling them to make payments easily. People with bad credit can also secure loans to buy a car; they may have to pay a sub prime rate, but may consider refinancing their car loan at a later date.

Getting a loan is the easy part, paying it back takes some determination and commitment from you. If you carefully consider your financial situation and select the lender offering terms and rates that you are comfortable with, getting and repaying auto car loans is relatively easy.

Credit-Cards-Answers.info – Credit Cards Information Website

How credit cards work

A user is issued credit after an account has been approved by the credit provider, and is given a credit card, with which the user will be able to make purchases from merchants accepting that credit card up to a pre-established credit limit. Often a general bank issues the credit, but sometimes a captive bank created to issue a particular brand of credit card, such as Chase, Wells Fargo or Bank of America, issues the credit.

When a purchase is made, the credit card user agrees to pay the card issuer. The cardholder indicates their consent to pay, by signing a receipt with a record of the card details and indicating the amount to be paid or by entering a Personal identification number (PIN). Also, many merchants now accept verbal authorizations via telephone and electronic authorization using the Internet, known as a ‘Card/Cardholder Not Present’ (CNP) transaction.

Electronic verification systems allow merchants to verify that the card is valid and the credit card customer has sufficient credit to cover the purchase in a few seconds, allowing the verification to happen at time of purchase. The verification is performed using a credit card payment terminal or Point of Sale (POS) system with a communications link to the merchant’s acquiring bank. Data from the card is obtained from a magnetic stripe or chip on the card; the latter system is in the United Kingdom commonly known as Chip and PIN, but is more technically an EMV card.

Other variations of verification systems are used by eCommerce merchants to determine if the user’s account is valid and able to accept the charge. These will typically involve the cardholder providing additional information, such as the security code printed on the back of the card, or the address of the cardholder.

Each month, the credit card user is sent a statement indicating the purchases undertaken with the card, any outstanding fees, and the total amount owed. After receiving the statement, the cardholder may dispute any charges that he or she thinks are incorrect (see Fair Credit Billing Act for details of the US regulations). Otherwise, the cardholder must pay a defined minimum proportion of the bill by a due date, or may choose to pay a higher amount up to the entire amount owed. The credit provider charges interest on the amount owed (typically at a much higher rate than most other forms of debt). Some financial institutions can arrange for automatic payments to be deducted from the user’s bank accounts, thus avoiding late payment altogether as long as the cardholder has sufficient funds.

Credit card issuers usually waive interest charges if the balance is paid in full each month, but typically will charge full interest on the entire outstanding balance from the date of each purchase if the total balance is not paid.

For example, if a user had a $1,000 transaction and repaid it in full within this grace period, there would be no interest charged. If, however, even $1.00 of the total amount remained unpaid, interest would be charged on the $1,000 from the date of purchase until the payment is received. The precise manner in which interest is charged is usually detailed in a cardholder agreement which may be summarized on the back of the monthly statement. The general calculation formula most financial institutions use to determine the amount of interest to be charged is APR/100 x ADB/365 x number of days revolved. Take the Annual percentage rate (APR) and divide by 100 then multiply to the amount of the average daily balance (ADB) divided by 365 and then take this total and multiply by the total number of days the amount revolved before payment was made on the account. Financial institutions refer to interest charged back to the original time of the transaction and up to the time a payment was made, if not in full, as RRFC or residual retail finance charge. Thus after an amount has revolved and a payment has been made that the user of the card will still receive interest charges on their statement after paying the next statement in full (in fact the statement may only have a charge for interest that collected up until the date the full balance was paid…i.e. when the balance stopped revolving).[1]

The credit card may simply serve as a form of revolving credit, or it may become a complicated financial instrument with multiple balance segments each at a different interest rate, possibly with a single umbrella credit limit, or with separate credit limits applicable to the various balance segments. Usually this compartmentalization is the result of special incentive offers from the issuing bank, either to encourage balance transfers from cards of other issuers, or to encourage more spending on the part of the customer. In the event that several interest rates apply to various balance segments, payment allocation is generally at the discretion of the issuing bank, and payments will therefore usually be allocated towards the lowest rate balances until paid in full before any money is paid towards higher rate balances. Interest rates can vary considerably from card to card, and the interest rate on a particular card may jump dramatically if the card user is late with a payment on that card or any other credit instrument, or even if the issuing bank decides to raise its revenue. As the rates and terms vary, services have been set up allowing users to calculate savings available by switching cards, which can be considerable if there is a large outstanding balance (see external links for some on-line services).

Because of intense competition in the credit card industry, credit providers often offer incentives such as frequent flyer points, gift certificates, or cash back (typically up to 1 percent based on total purchases) to try to attract customers to their program.

Low interest credit cards or even 0% interest credit cards are available. The only downside to consumers is that the period of low interest credit cards is limited to a fixed term, usually between 6 and 12 months after which a higher rate is charged. However, services are available which alert credit card holders when their low interest period is due to expire. Most such services charge a monthly or annual fee.

Grace period

A credit card’s grace period is the time the customer has to pay the balance before interest is charged to the balance. Grace periods vary, but usually range from 20 to 30 days depending on the type of credit card and the issuing bank. Some policies allow for reinstatement after certain conditions are met. Usually, if a customer is late paying the balance, finance charges will be calculated and the grace period does not apply. Finance charge(s) incurred depends on the grace period and balance, with most credit cards there is no grace period if there’s any outstanding balance from the previous billing cycle or statement (i.e. interest is applied on both the previous balance and new transactions). However, there are some credit cards that will only apply finance charge on the previous or old balance, excluding new transactions.

The merchant’s side

For merchants, a credit card transaction is often more secure than other forms of payment, such as cheques, because the issuing bank commits to pay the merchant the moment the transaction is authorized, regardless of whether the consumer defaults on their credit card payment (except for legitimate disputes, which are discussed below, and can result in charge backs to the merchant). In most cases, cards are even more secure than cash, because they discourage theft by the merchant’s employees and reduce the amount of cash on the premises.

For each purchase, the bank charges the merchant a commission (discount fee) for this service and there may be a certain delay before the agreed payment is received by the merchant. The commission is often a percentage of the transaction amount, plus a fixed fee. In addition, a merchant may be penalized or have their ability to receive payment using that credit card restricted if there are too many cancellations or reversals of charges as a result of disputes. Some small merchants require credit purchases to have a minimum amount (usually between $5 and $10) to compensate for the transaction costs, though this is not always allowed by the credit card consortium.

In some countries, like the Nordic countries, banks guarantee payment on stolen cards only if an ID card is checked and the ID card number/civic registration number is written down on the receipt together with the signature. In these countries merchants therefore usually ask for ID. Non-Nordic citizens, who are unlikely to possess a Nordic ID card or driving license, will instead have to show their passport, and the passport number will be written down on the receipt, sometimes together with other information. Some shops use the card’s PIN code for identification, and in that case showing an ID card is not necessary.

Parties involved

Cardholder: The owner of the card used to make a purchase; the consumer.

Card-issuing bank: The financial institution or other organization that issued the credit card to the cardholder. This bank bills the consumer for repayment and bears the risk that the card is used fraudulently. American Express and Discover were previously the only card-issuing banks for their respective brands, but as of 2007, this is no longer the case.

Merchant: The individual or business accepting credit card payments for products or services sold to the cardholder

Acquiring bank: The financial institution accepting payment for the products or services on behalf of the merchant.

Independent sales organization: Resellers (to merchants) of the services of the acquiring bank.

Merchant account: This could refer to the acquiring bank or the independent sales organization, but in general is the organization that the merchant deals with.

Credit Card association: An association of card-issuing banks such as Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, etc. that set transaction terms for merchants, card-issuing banks, and acquiring banks.

Transaction network: The system that implements the mechanics of the electronic transactions. May be operated by an independent company, and one company may operate multiple networks. Transaction processing networks include: Cardnet, Nabanco, Omaha, Paymentech, NDC Atlanta, Nova, Vital, Concord EFSnet, and VisaNet.[2]

Affinity partner: Some institutions lend their name to an issuer to attract customers that have a strong relationship with that institution, and get paid a fee or a percentage of the balance for each card issued using their name. Examples of typical affinity partners are sports teams, universities and charities.

The flow of information and money between these parties — always through the card associations — is known as the interchange, and it consists of a few steps.

Secured credit cards

A secured credit card is a type of credit card secured by a deposit account owned by the cardholder. Typically, the cardholder must deposit between 100% and 200% of the total amount of credit desired. Thus if the cardholder puts down $1000, he or she will be given credit in the range of $500–$1000. In some cases, credit card issuers will offer incentives even on their secured card portfolios. In these cases, the deposit required may be significantly less than the required credit limit, and can be as low as 10% of the desired credit limit. This deposit is held in a special savings account. Credit card issuers offer this as they have noticed that delinquencies were notably reduced when the customer perceives he has something to lose if he doesn’t repay his balance.

The cardholder of a secured credit card is still expected to make regular payments, as he or she would with a regular credit card, but should he or she default on a payment, the card issuer has the option of recovering the cost of the purchases paid to the merchants out of the deposit. The advantage of the secured card for an individual with negative or no credit history is that most companies report regularly to the major credit bureaus. This allows for building of positive credit history.

Although the deposit is in the hands of the credit card issuer as security in the event of default by the consumer, the deposit will not be debited simply for missing one or two payments. Usually the deposit is only used as an offset when the account is closed, either at the request of the customer or due to severe delinquency (150 to 180 days). This means that an account which is less than 150 days delinquent will continue to accrue interest and fees, and could result in a balance which is much higher than the actual credit limit on the card. In these cases the total debt may far exceed the original deposit and the cardholder not only forfeits their deposit but is left with an additional debt.

Most of these conditions are usually described in a cardholder agreement which the cardholder signs when their account is opened.

Secured credit cards are an option to allow a person with a poor credit history or no credit history to have a credit card which might not otherwise be available. They are often offered as a means of rebuilding one’s credit. Secured credit cards are available with both Visa and MasterCard logos on them. Fees and service charges for secured credit cards often exceed those charged for ordinary non-secured credit cards, however, for people in certain situations, (for example, after charging off on other credit cards, or people with a long history of delinquency on various forms of debt), secured cards can often be less expensive in total cost than unsecured credit cards, even including the security deposit.

Sometimes a credit card will be secured by the equity in the borrower’s home.[3][4] This is called a home equity line of credit (HELOC).

Instant Approval Credit Cards

For those who live in the fast-paced world of today there is now a credit card that meets your needs. If you don’t have the time to wait for credit card approval then an instant approval credit card might be the route to take. A lot of people don’t have the time or patience for the dated method of applying for a credit card. Traditionally you have to fill out an application, mail it in, and wait for a letter advising you if you have been approved for a line of credit.

What happens when you don’t have the luxury of time to get approved for a credit card? This is where an instant approval card comes in handy. Companies that offer instant approval credit cards provide an online link to their application. No more filling out your application by hand and sending it off in a stamped envelope. Now with a click of your mouse you can access the application, fill it out, and submit it.

Not only do you get rid of the time consuming forms and submissions, you can also say goodbye to waiting to be informed of your approval status. After submitting your application for your instant approval credit card you will be notified in minutes of whether you have been approved or not. Going through an instant approval credit card does not diminish your options on what type of credit card you can apply for. Credit card companies offer a variety of choices in addition to this hassle free method. You can choose from gas credit cards, rewards credit cards, or cash back incentives. This is an option that doesn’t have any downfalls. You are able to be approved instantly and still have many of the choices with regular credit cards.

Such cards offered through the instant approval method are the Chase Visa® Platinum Card, Discover® More (SM) Card, Chase Free Cash Rewards Visa Card, Discover® Open Road(SM) Card, Blue from American Express, Chase Freedom Cash Visa Signature Card, Blue Cash from American Express, American Express Preferred Rewards Green Card, Clear from American Express, and Miles by Discover® Card. Talk about a multitude in credit card options. You still maintain the same selection without having to have the patience on waiting days or even weeks for some type of notification in the mail.

So what if you aren’t approved for a credit card through cards with instant approval? You still have opportunities, just possibly through a different type of credit card. The days of getting declined and experiencing the despair of not being able to benefit from a credit card are over. Many of the companies mentioned above have come up with a solution to being declined. When you seek a credit card through instant approval you will know immediately if you are declined. If so you may want to seek a prepaid credit card. You can be instantly approved and in the case of many cards offered can even benefit from some of the rewards credit cards or those that offer cash back incentives, all through a prepaid credit card.

Credit Card Balance Transfer Offer – What You Need To Know

If you’re looking to reduce your monthly debt payments and free up more cash, then a credit card transfer to a lower interest rate may be a good option. There are many different types of balance transfer offers available. The sheer number available can be overwhelming and sometimes just the thought of selecting the perfect one is daunting. The actual task can seem impossible.

To make this task a little less overwhelming, it helps to understand this type of card. It’s also important to know the different types of balance transfers available on charge cards.

How Does This Type of Card Work?

To begin to understand balance transfer credit cards, you need to know how they work.

The way this type of plastic money works is fairly simple. If you have a balance on one credit card, you can sign up for a new card and then transfer the original amount to it. Most charge card issuers are happy to accept your plastic debt from another company. They want your business and will make the idea of a money transfer as appealing as possible.

Low interest rates and rewards perks are some of the benefits used to entice new customers. But you should be aware that even with all these great sounding bonuses, balance transfers can end up being very expensive if they’re not done right.

Exercise Caution

The most common balance transfer offer is the one where you’re offered a super-low introductory rate on transfers. An example of this type of card is the Blue from American Express. It has an introductory transfer rate of 4.99%.

The Blue from American Express, unless some other cards, fixes this interest rate for the life of the balance. Some other credit cards may increase the interest rate after the introductory time frame ends, which could last anywhere between six to 15 months. For this reason, it’s always important to read the fine print to make sure you’re getting exactly what you want.

You should also remember that not everyone qualifies for the advertised low interest rates. While the advertised rate may be appealing, the reality is that only a few with exceptionally stellar credit scores will qualify for the posted rate. The best way to increase your chances of qualifying for the lowest rate possible is to make sure you make your minimum payments on time for all your current charge cards and other debts. If you can pay more than the minimum, then you should do that.

Another thing to watch out for are hefty transfer fees. Some charge cards will make you pay for the privilege of transferring your balance to them. A few issuers charge fees that are a percentage of the transferred amount, while others cap fees anywhere from $35 to $80.

Howard Strong, author of What Every Credit Card User Needs to Know warns that companies often have sneaky conditions. “You need to be extremely cautious,” he has been quoted as saying. You’ll have to decide for yourself if transfer fee is worth the interest rate you qualify for. Do the math. A 5% transfer charge fee will mean that you’ll pay an additional $50 for every thousand dollars you transfer.

Avoid the cards that charge hefty fees.

After the Transfer

So, you’ve done your research and found the perfect card for your needs. You’ve gone through the application process, been accepted for the interest rate you can live with, and are waiting for the balance transfer to go through.

The biggest mistake too many people make while they wait for the transfer to take effect is that they forget to continue making minimum payments on their old card/cards. If you do not make your minimum payments, this could have a negative impact on your credit score. A single late or missed payment is all some credit card issuers need as an excuse to increase your interest rates. Once the balance has been transferred, close your old ones so you’re not tempted to continue to use them. Then begin paying as much as you can on your new card so that you can eliminate your debt.

Car LoansAuto Car Loans – Your Options By Apurva Shree

By Apurva Shree

Shopping for auto car loans is just as important as shopping for the car that you like. People have a lot of choices in choosing a lender who offers car loans to help them buy the car they desire.Selecting An Auto Loan FinancierPeople can always approach their local bank to secure an auto loan, but may dread the lengthy application process, the many questions they have to answer and the documents that they may have to prepare and submit.

Home Improvement Loan – Take Before You Look For An Improvement
By Dina Wilson

There are some factors which are taken into account when you search for a lender to get the best home improvement loan from. Before you start a deal, make it sure that your credit score is as good as it can probably be. Try to search for the one with a low rate. Such improvement loan comes in fixed and variable rates. Fixed rates do not change throughout the tenure of loan though there is fluctuation in the money market. Variable rates tend to change quite often and thus cost people more money in the end. Also, when searching for home improvement, cull out the ones that will get you the cash when you need it. There are some lenders who take an awfully long time to grant you the fund you ask for.To get a great rate for your loan is not a big deal. You can get it by comparing different loan quotes from several home improvement lenders. Before speaking to any lender, it is better for you to have your home improvement project planned out. It means you may have already spoken to your contractor to find out the actual costs of the improvement. You know that any project can bring up unexpected snag or expense. So it is an excellent idea to keep a check and balance before you request for a loan.Since the loan is secured, the loan length can be extended almost as a home loan. Usually, such loan repayment program is lasted for 10years. You can obtain the longer repayment programs to suit your needs and your budget. Though longer the repayment period, the more you will have to pay in the name of interest rates. There is no denying fact that the loan instalments will be determined by length of the loan and the interest rate charged. In case, if you can not afford high monthly instalments, you need not worry since you can always extend the tenure of the loan.

Finally, when looking for a home improvement loan, search for the ones with the best possible loan deal. Some lenders offer no appraisal fees and no lender fees. This will in turn save you a bit of money. You can subscribe the loan online and offline as per your convenience. Though, online application is preferred and sort out readily. In doing so, a great amount of time and energy can be saved. And later, through the online process, your required fund is approved instantly.

The Crip Walk, or C-Walk, is a steady movement of the feet used to spell out gang-related symbols and images. It originated in the early 1970s in Compton, a poor suburb of Los Angeles, California, popularly referenced in rap lyrics. What began as a symbolic movement of the feet in the early 1980s, soon inspired a hip-hop dance in the late 1990s. This style of dance today is known as the Crip Walk.

Origins

Largely composed of nimble movements with the feet, the Crip Walk had a variety of purposes including recognition, showing love and loyalty to fellow Crip members, and making a loud statement to others that the walker is a member of the Crips. Another purpose of the dance was to insult rivals (most specifically the Bloods), in which they would spell out the name of their rivals and then cross it out. They would also spell out their names, neighborhoods, or other words related to themselves. Crip Walkers would also flash gang related hand gestures (stacking) while performing the dance.

A common practice for Crip members is to use the C-Walk to celebrate the initiation of a new member. It is also largely believed that the C-Walk was used as a warning to other gangs of a future attack by the Crips, or as a signal in a robbery. For example, the lookout would stand outside of the store and act as surveillance, while the robbers would lay in wait and await the signal: the C-Walk. Allegedly, Crips would also C-Walk after shooting or killing a rival gang member in celebration. [1]

Typically performed to West Coast, Gangsta Rap and G-funk, the C-Walk first hit the mainstream when rapper WC felt the urge to represent his gang at one of his concerts. Since then, a variety of rap artists have featured the C-Walk in their music videos and/or live performances- though those who perform it are usually Crips themselves (or at least have been in the past). They have also warned the younger audience that The C-Walk is not a dance and is meant to show love to Crip members only.

However, the warnings were largely ignored by non gang members who not only practiced and performed the dance but also altered the spelling of the word to alternatives such as “Krypt” or “Krip” in an attempt to distance the dance from its gang origins (although they commonly referred to it as simply “The C-Walk”). In addition, many young and popular hip hop artists such as B2K and Bow Wow began performing the dance in their concerts and music videos, which thus increased the popularity of the dance. Concerns about its origins and the potential to start fights amongst students led schools to ban the C-Walk on school property and at school functions in response[2]. The popularity of the Crip Walk continued to grow and it became a part of Hip-Hop culture in the late 1980s and 1990s. In later years, a spin-off version called the Clown Walk was created.

Sometimes, this version of the Crip Walk is referred to as “The O.G. Crip Walk” – O.G. being the acronym for “Original Gangsta“.

Variations

Because there are different variations to the walk, Crip Walking has evolved into various versions (primarily to distance it from its gang origins). However, there are several mainstream versions of the Crip Walk that have always been a part of the Crip culture:

The “V”: This is the original Crip Walk, in which involves shifting your body by making “V” shaped movements with your feet. Executing the V also allowed members to spell out words or names. Often, Crips would spell out the word “Blood” and then ‘erase’ or ‘cross it out’ to further antagonize their rivals. It also has The “V” Variation and The “V” Step Back.

The Heel-Toe: A recently popular variation to the C-Walk. This version involves crossing one leg and making a semi twist with your heels and toes. This also involves a lot of angle work (for example: your right foot must be directed at 90 degrees behind your left foot in order to make that semi twist) and takes a little longer to get the hang of. If this move is featured in a C-walk, it actually becomes Clown Walking, rather than Crip Walking. Nevertheless, it is a part of Crip Walking as a whole. There are many variations to the Heel-Toe, the most common of which are known as the reverse and inverse heel-toes.

The Shuffle: This move-set involves shuffling your feet forwards and backwards. Snoop Dogg performs this in WC’s music video “The Streets.”

The Snake: When performed, the walk is then referred to as the “Clown walk”. The user will move his front leg left and right on his heel, while his back leg follows shortly after. A fairly simple move, for experienced C-walkers. Rapper Warren G does this in WC’s video “The Streets”. It also is close to The “Heeltoe”.

Plastic surgery is a medical specialty that uses a number of surgical and nonsurgical techniques to change the appearance and function of a person’s body.[1] Plastic surgery procedures include both cosmetic enhancements as well as functionally reconstructive operations. In the former case, where aesthetics are considered more important than functionality, plastic surgery is also referred to as cosmetic surgery. Most procedures involve both aesthetic and functional elements.

The word “plastic” derives from the Greek plastikos meaning to mold or to shape; its use here is not connected with the synthetic polymer material known as plastic. Plastic surgeons typically mold and reshape the following tissues of the body: bone, cartilage, muscle, fat, and skin.

Introduction

The basic goals of plastic surgery include the following:

Correction of perceived disfigurement

Restoration of impaired function

Improvement of physical appearance

During plastic surgery the following procedures are common:

Tissue may be moved to fill a depression, to cover a wound, or to improve appearance.

Tissue may be completely removed to alter the contours of a feature.

The benefits of plastic surgery may include:

Correction of a congenital or acquired deformity

Correction of a perceived physical imperfection

Psychological benefits

History

The history of plastic surgery reaches back to the 700s BCE. Physicians in ancient India including Sushruta were utilizing skin grafts for reconstructive work as early as the 8th century BC. In his work Sushruta Samhita describes rhinoplasty and otoplasty. This knowledge of plastic surgery existed in India up to the late 18th century as can be seen from the reports published in Gentleman’s Magazine (October 1794).[2][3]

The Romans were able to perform simple techniques such as repairing damaged ears from around the 1st century BC. In 1465, Sabuncuoglu’s book, description and classification of hypospadias was more informative and up to date.Localization of urethral meatus was described in detail.Sabuncuoglu also detailed the description and classification of ambigius genitalia (Kitabul Cerrahiye-i Ilhaniye -Cerrahname-Tip Tarihi Enstitüsü,Istanbul) In mid-15th century Europe, Heinrich von Pfolspeundt described a process “to make a new nose for one who lacks it entirely, and the dogs have devoured it” by removing skin from the back of the arm and suturing it in place. However, because of the dangers associated with surgery in any form, especially that involving the head or face, it was not until the 19th and 20th centuries that such surgery became commonplace.

Up until the techniques of anesthesia became established, all surgery on healthy tissues involved great pain. Infection from surgery was reduced once sterile technique and disinfectants were introduced. The invention and use of antibiotics beginning with sulfa drugs and penicillin was another step in making elective surgery possible.

Chopart in 1791 performed operative procedure of a lip using a flap from the neck. Joseph Carpue in 1814 successfully performed operative procedure in a British military officer who had lost his nose to the toxic effects of mercury treatments. Carl Von Graefe the German surgeon in 1818 published his major work entitled “Rhinoplastik.” Carl Von Graefe modified the Italian method using a free skin graft from the arm instead of the original delayed pedicle flap. In 1845 Dieffenbach wrote a comprehensive text on rhinoplasty, entitled “Operative Chirurgie.” He introduced the concept of reoperation to improve the cosmetic appearance of the reconstructed nose. In 1891 John Roe, an American otorhinolaryngologist presented an example of his work, a young woman on whom he reduced a dorsal nasal hump for cosmetic indications. In 1892 Robert Weir experimented unsuccessfully with xenografts (duck sternum) in the reconstruction of sunken noses. In 1896 James Israel, a urological surgeon from Germany, and In 1889 George Monks of the United States each described the successful use of heterogeneous free-bone grafting to reconstruct saddle nose defects. In 1898 Jacques Joseph, the German orthopaedic-trained surgeon, published his first account of reduction rhinoplasty . In 1928 Jacques Joseph published Nasenplastik und Sonstige Gesichtsplastik.

The U.S.’s first plastic surgeon was Dr. John Peter Mettauer. He performed the first cleft palate operation in 1827 with instruments that he designed himself. The New Zealander Sir Harold Gillies an otolaryngologist developed many of the techniques of modern plastic surgery in caring for those who suffered facial injuries in World War I. His work was expanded upon during World War II by one of his former students and cousin, Archibald McIndoe, who pioneered treatments for RAF aircrew suffering from severe burns. McIndoe’s radical, experimental treatments, lead to the formation of the Guinea Pig Club. Plastic surgery as a specialty evolved tremendously during the 20th Century in the United States. One of the founders of the specialty – Dr. Vilray Blair – served as the first chief of the Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Washington University in St. Louis. In one of his many areas of clinical expertise, Blair treated World War I soldiers with complex maxillofacial injuries, and his paper on “Reconstructive Surgery of the Face” set the standard for craniofacial reconstruction. He was also one of the first non-oral surgeons elected to the American Association of Oral and Plastic Surgery (later renamed the American Association of Plastic Surgeons) and taught many surgeons who became leaders in the field of plastic surgery

Techniques and procedures

Common techniques used in plastic surgery are:

incision

excision

microsurgery

chemosurgery

electrosurgery

laser surgery

dermabrasion

liposuction

In plastic surgery the transfer of skin tissue (skin grafting) is one of the most common procedures. (In traditional surgery a “graft” is a piece of living tissue, organ, etc., that is transplanted.

Autografts: Skin grafts taken from the recipient. If absent or deficient of natural tissue, alternatives can be:

Cultured Sheets of epithelial cells in vitro.

Synthetic compounds (e.g., Integra–a 2 layered dermal substitute consisting superficially of silicone and deeply of bovine tendon collagen with glycosaminoglycans).

Allografts: Skin grafts taken from a donor of the same species.

Xenografts: Skin grafts taken from a donor of a different species.

Usually, good results are expected from plastic surgery that emphasizes:

Careful planning of incisions so that they fall in the line of natural skin folds or lines.

Appropriate choice of wound closure.

Use of best available suture materials.

Early removal of exposed sutures so that the wound is held closed by buried sutures.

Reconstructive plastic surgery

Reconstructive Plastic Surgery is performed to correct functional impairments caused by:

burns

traumatic injuries, such as facial bone fractures

congenital abnormalities, such as cleft lip, or cleft palate

developmental abnormalities

infection or disease

removal of cancers or tumors, such as a mastectomy

Reconstructive plastic surgery is usually performed to improve function, but it may be done to approximate a normal appearance. It is generally covered by insurance coverage but this may change according to the procedure required.

Common reconstructive surgical procedures are: breast reconstruction for women who have had a mastectomy, cleft lip and palate surgery, contracture surgery for burn survivors; one of the complication of severe burns.[2] [3]) , creating a new outer ear when one is congenitally absent, and closing skin and mucosa defects after removal of tumors in the head and neck region.

Plastic surgeons developed the use of microsurgery to transfer tissue for coverage of a defect when no local tissue is available. Tissue flaps comprised of skin, muscle, bone, fat or a combination, may be removed from the body, moved to another site on the body and reconnected to a blood supply by suturing arteries and veins as small as 1-2 mm in diameter.

Cosmetic surgeryCosmetic surgery is a very popular form of plastic surgery. In 2006, nearly 11 million cosmetic plastic surgeries were performed in the United States alone.[4]

Within the U.S., it is legal for any doctor, regardless of speciality, to perform cosmetic surgery. It is thus important to distinguish the terms “plastic surgery” and “cosmetic surgery”: Plastic Surgery is recognized by the American Board of Medical Specialties as the subspecialty dedicated to the surgical repair of defects of form or function — this includes cosmetic (or aesthetic) surgery, as well as reconstructive surgery. The term “cosmetic surgery” however, refers to surgery that is designed to improve cosmetics, or appearance. In several countries including Australia, many doctors who are not qualified as surgeons also perform cosmetic procedures.[5]

The most prevalent aesthetic/cosmetic procedures are listed below. Most of these types of surgery are more commonly known by their “common names.” These are also listed when pertinent.

Abdominoplasty (or “tummy tuck”): reshaping and firming of the abdomen

Blepharoplasty (or “eyelid surgery”): Reshaping of the eyelids or the application of permanent eyeliner, including Asian blepharoplasty

Mammoplasty

Breast augmentation (or “breast enlargement” or “boob job”): Augmentation of the breasts. This can involve either saline or silicone gel prosthetics.

Breast reduction: Removal of skin and glandular tissue. Indicated to reduce back and shoulder pain or for psychological benefit in women with macromastia.

Buttock Augmentation (or “butt augmentation” or “butt implants”): Enhancement of the buttocks. This procedure can be performed by using silicone implants or fat grafting and transfer from other areas of the body.

Chemical peel: Minimizing the appearance of acne, pock, and other scars as well as wrinkles (depending on concentration and type of agent used, except for deep furrows), solar lentigines (age spots, freckles), and photodamage in general. Chemical peels commonly involve carbolic acid (Phenol), trichloroacetic acid (TCA), glycolic acid (AHA), or salicylic acid (BHA) as the active agent.

Mastopexy (or “breast lift”): Raising or reshaping of breasts. Involves removal of breast skin as opposed to glandular tissue.

Labiaplasty: Surgical reduction and reshaping of the labia

Rhinoplasty (or “nose job”): Reshaping of the nose

Otoplasty (or ear surgery): Reshaping of the ear

Rhytidectomy (or “face lift”): Removal of wrinkles and signs of aging from the face

Suction-Assisted Lipectomy (or liposuction): Removal of fat from the body

Chin augmentation: Augmentation of the chin with an implant (e.g. silicone) or by sliding genioplasty of the jawbone.

Cheek augmentation

Collagen, fat, and other tissue filler injections (e.g. hyaluronic acid)

Laser skin resurfacing

Injection of dermal fillers (collagen, hyaluronic acid, fat, and others)

Landscaping refers to any activity that modifies the visible features of an area of land, including but not limited to:

living elements, such as flora or fauna; or what is commonly referred to as Gardening, the art and craft of growing plants with a goal of creating a beautiful environment within the landscape.

natural elements such as landforms, terrain shape and elevation, or bodies of water;

human elements such as structures, buildings, fences or other material objects created and/or installed by humans; and

abstract elements such as the weather and lighting conditions.

Landscaping is both science and art, and requires good observation and design skills. A good landscaper understands the elements of nature and construction, and blends them accordingly.

An early Greek philosopher known for his view that “all is water,” spent a considerable time thinking about the nature and scope of landscaping. Some of his students believed that in order for human activity to be considered landscaping, it must be directed toward modifying the physical features of the land itself, including the cultivation and/or manipulation of plants or other flora. Thales rejected this notion, arguing that any aspect of the material world affecting our visual perception of the land was a proper subject for landscaping. Both Plato and Aristotle praised Thales’ analysis as a model for philosophy. In the early 20th century, British philosopher G.E. Moore cited Thales’ reasoning as one of the few historical examples of how philosophical inquiry has led to genuine human understanding and progress.

Philosophers in the 17th century debated whether visual beauty was a necessary goal of landscaping. With the advent of the positivists by the early 20th century, however, most western philosophers had rejected the notion of an objective esthetic standard for any form of art, including landscaping. Practitioners since the mid-20th century have experimented with jarring visual panoramas that are now generally accepted, at least in western societies, as falling within the scope of landscaping.

Landscape design is similar to landscape architecture. Landscape Design focuses more on the artistic merits of design, while Landscape Architecture encompasses the artistic design as well as structural engineering. Landscape design and Landscape Architecture, both take into account soils, drainage, climate and other issues, because the survival of selected plants depends on those. Landscape Architecture may require a license depending on the country and region (a license is needed in most USA states). In Oregon, for example, a Landscape Contractor licensed with the Oregon Landscape Contractors Board, may provide levels of landscape architecture and design as long as that landscaper does not assign the title “landscape architect” to themselves. Landscape designers may be required to have a license, depending on the level and detail in the design plan, as well as the location. Landscape design landscape planning is concerned with small and large scale projects. The establishment of landscape plants over a period of time is not landscape design, but is considered “landscape management”. Landscape design is almost synonymous with garden design. Landscape architecture and landscape design can, and should, embrace garden design, landscape management, landscape engineering, landscape detailing, landscape urbanism, landscape assessment and landscape planning.

Traditionally, landscape designers and architects have used pencil and paper to plot the position of plants and other landscape features. Landscape design software has become a popular choice since the advent of the personal computer.

Practically speaking, landscape architecture and landscape design are almost one in the same, if done properly according to the science, knowledge and skill that should be utilized. Some Landscape Designers are licensed Landscape Architects. Sometimes, professionals must call themselves “Landscape Designers” because local laws and rules prevent advertising as “Landscape Architects” without that level of license.

There are also licensed Landscape Contractors who perform landscape design. They may employ landscape designers.

Culturally, Landscape Architects are frequently associated with larger projects, and Landscape Designers are associated with smaller projects. But in actual practice, that’s not the case 100% of the time.

In the landscape design profession, “Landscape Architecture” is generally the name of the more advanced level of college education pertaining to landscape design.

Drop Shipping Video Clips Guides

Drop shipping is a supply chain management technique in which the retailer does not keep goods in stock, but instead transfers customer orders and shipment details to wholesalers, who then ship the goods directly to the customer . The retailers make their profit on the difference between the wholesale and retail price.

Procedure

Some drop shipping retailers may keep “show” items on display in stores, so that customers can inspect an item similar to those that they can purchase. Other retailers may provide only a catalogue or website.

Retailers that drop ship merchandise from wholesalers may take measures to hide this fact to avoid any stigma, or to keep the wholesale source from becoming widely known. This can be affected by “blind shipping” (shipping merchandise without a return address), or “private label shipping” (having merchandise shipped from the wholesaler with a return address customized to the retailer). A customized packing slip may also be included by the wholesaler, indicating the retailer’s company name, logo, and/or contact information.

Small business

Drop shipping can occur when a small retailer who typically sells in small quantities to the general public receives a single large order for a product. Rather than route the shipment through the retail store, the retailer may arrange for the goods to be shipped directly to the customer.

Online auctions

Many sellers on online auction sites, such as eBay, also drop ship. Often, a seller will list an item as new and ship the item directly from the wholesaler to the highest bidder. The seller profits from the difference between the winning bid and the wholesale price, minus any selling and merchant fees from the auction site. A seller is permitted to list items that are currently not in his/her own possession, provided that he/she follows eBay’s policy on pre-sale items.

Custom products

A new emerging trend in the drop ship business is private label drop shipping, in which a manufacturer produces a custom item for a retailer and drop ships it. The range of private label drop shipped items varies from simple keychains and t-shirts with custom logos or pictures to customized formulations for vitamins and nutritional supplements

Benefits

The two main benefits of drop shipping are – no upfront inventory to purchase and a positive cash flow cycle. A positive cash flow cycle occurs because the seller is paid when the purchase is made. The seller usually pays the wholesaler using a credit card or credit terms. Therefore, there is a period of time in which the seller has the customer’s money, but has not yet paid the wholesaler.

Risks

As in any business, some risks are involved in drop shipping. For example, back ordering may occur when a seller places a shipment request with a wholesaler, but the product is sold out. Back ordering may be accompanied by a long wait for a shipment while the wholesaler waits for new products, which may reflect badly on the retailer. A good wholesaler will keep retailers updated, but it is the business owner’s job to be aware of the quantities that the wholesaler has available.

Scams

Drop shipping has also featured prominently in some Internet-based home business scams. [1] Scam artists will promote drop shipping as a lucrative “work from home opportunity”. The victim who buys into this scam will be sold a list of businesses from which drop-shipment orders can be placed. These businesses may not be wholesalers, but other businesses or individuals acting as middlemen between retailers and wholesalers, with no product of their own to sell. These middlemen often charge prices that leave little profit margin for the victim, and require a regular fee for the retailer’s usage of their services.

Association football, commonly known as football or soccer, is a team sport played between two teams of eleven players, and is the most popular sport in the world.[1][2][3][4][5] It is a football variant played on a rectangular grass or artificial turf field, with a goal at each of the short ends. The object of the game is to score by manoeuvring the ball into the opposing goal. In general play, the goalkeepers are the only players allowed to use their hands or arms to propel the ball; the rest of the team usually use their feet to kick the ball into position, occasionally using their torso or head to intercept a ball in midair. The team that scores the most goals by the end of the match wins. If the score is tied at the end of the game, either a draw is declared or the game goes into extra time and/or a penalty shootout, depending on the format of the competition.

The modern game was codified in England following the formation of The Football Association, whose 1863 Laws of the Game created the foundations for the way the sport is played today. Football is governed internationally by the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (International Federation of Association Football), commonly known by the acronym FIFA. The most prestigious international football competition is the FIFA World Cup, held every four years. This event, the most widely viewed in the world, boasts an audience twice that of the Summer Olympic Games.

Trailers or previews are film advertisements for films that will be exhibited in the future at a cinema, on whose screen they are shown. The term “trailer” comes from their having originally been shown at the end of a film programme. That practice did not last long, because patrons tended to leave the theater after the films ended, but the name has stuck. Trailers are now shown before the film (or the A movie in a double feature program) begins.
